Solution combines Alcatel-Lucent and HP products to link SOA governance with an enterprise-wide run time compliance infrastructure
Paris, February 21, 2008 - Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced a product integration that brings together the HP SOA Systinet governance software with Alcatel-Lucent’s OmniAccess 8550 Web Services Gateway.
The solution provides a unique ability for enterprises to ensure that information access policy designed into their service oriented architecture (SOA) applications is enforced at run time. This enables enterprises to maintain strict control on access to its private information while automating its business processes.
“Positive trends are forming where security is designed and embedded into business processes,” said Michael Suby, Director at Stratecast (a Division of Frost & Sullivan). “Alcatel-Lucent and HP are hitting this trend with their joint solution that links design time policy authoring and compliance validation with comprehensive run time enforcement.”
The combined Alcatel-Lucent and HP solution offers highly secure governance and regulatory compliance capabilities that let enterprises fully benefit from SOA while mitigating potential security risks associated with traditional SOA deployments. This solution is a must for organizations that require adherence to strict information privacy legislation, in industries such as healthcare, government, finance, and education.
HP SOA Systinet software offers a complete SOA governance solution, including a registry and repository foundation providing an SOA “system-of-record” and a rich set of governance and service lifecycle management applications, including policy and contract management.
Alcatel-Lucent’s newly available OmniAccess 8550 Web Services Gateway sets a new standard for enterprise information security and compliance. Incubated in the Bell Labs Venture Program, the OA 8550 is the industry’s first network-embedded SOA appliance to provide an enterprise-wide compliance infrastructure that securely controls access to sensitive information across multiple IT systems, and with business partners. The OmniAccess 8550 uniquely allows IT departments to implement stateful information access policies at run time.
“HP is a recognized leader in SOA governance, quality and management markets and this collaboration allows us to take a best-of-breed solution to our customers and leverage HP’s consulting capabilities for a turnkey solution,” said Michel Emelianoff, vice president for Alcatel-Lucent’s Enterprise security solutions. “HP’s Systinet governance and registry solutions are enabling designers to speed delivery of complex new services across multiple platforms. Working together, we can simplify and fully secure end-to-end governance to speed SOA deployments with reduced risk.”
SOA can transform businesses by increasing the flexibility and speeding delivery of new services. HP’s extensive governance, quality and management portfolio optimizes the adoption and management of SOA to optimize business benefits and address security risks.
“Using the OmniAccess 8550 WSG with the HP SOA Systinet governance software offers advanced regulatory compliance to protect sensitive data without compromising information availability,” said Avrami Tzur, vice president, SOA, Software, HP. “Alcatel-Lucent’s product ensures interoperability not only between business-critical internal systems but with external partner networks to ensure policy authored at design time is enforced at run time, thus minimizing information security risks.”
