| Speaking Sessions: How to make your company fit for the future |
Company: Henley Management College
Job title: Director, Future Work Forum
Peter Thomson is the Director of the Future Work Forum at Henley Management College. The Forum was set up in 1992 as a centre of expertise in the impact that new working practices are having on organisations. His interest in this subject started when he was the HR Director for Digital Equipment and he was involved in the early trails of teleworking and other flexible working practices.
Having seen the potential impact of technology on information work in the 80s and 90s and studied the evolving role of managers over the last decade, Peter has become one of the leading thinkers on the future of work. He provides consultancy to many organisations on the benefits of new working practices and regularly talks at conferences on the implications for managers. He has contributed to government reports on policy and practice and is regularly quoted in a wide variety of media. His recent research includes ‘Tomorrow’s Leaders’ a report on flexible and remote working published in July 2007.
